On May 18, Sinopec's "Trackless guide All-position crawling welding Robot Project Application Appraisal Meeting" jointly undertaken by Sinopec Fifth Construction Company and Botsing Technology was successfully concluded in Xizang Building in Beijing. A total of 15 well-known domestic experts, including Academician Chen Xuedong and Academician Xie Zaiku, who are well-known in the field of petrochemical industry and mechanical scientific research, conducted technical review and appraisal on the application of the project at the identification meeting site. Academician Pan Jiluan of Tsinghua University and his team of experts, Jiang Dejun, General manager of Sinopec Refining and Chemical Engineering, Yi Hao, Executive director and Party Secretary of Sinopec Wujian Company, Wang Yongke, Deputy general manager, Dr. Feng Xiaobing, general manager of Botsing Technology and project team members participated in the review.
In this project application appraisal meeting, the main completion personnel of the project made a project report. Wang Yongke, deputy general manager of Wujian Company, made a work report and application report, and Li Hailong of Botsing Technology made a technical research report. For the special welding needs of storage tanks in the petrochemical field, Botsing Technology's trackless and unguided crawling welding robot technology was first applied to steel vertical cylindrical storage tanks at home and abroad and performed on-site welding, achieving the first successful application of the trackless full-position crawling welding robot welding process in the petrochemical field engineering site. The project results show that the robot welding ensures high quality, and the welding efficiency is more than 3 times higher than that of manual welding.
The on-site academicians and experts assessed that the project met the relevant standards and requirements, and agreed to promote and apply in Sinopec. The appraisal meeting was a complete success.
